When it comes to celebrity siblings, Sydel Curry certainly takes the cake. She is the sister of three-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion and two time MVP – Stephen Curry. She is also the sister of the NBA point guard and shooting guard – Seth Curry. All three siblings and their parents certainly constitute basketball royalties although Sydel has come to also be known as a former volleyball player. As much as that is the case, she has not deviated from basketball in her choice of a life partner as she is married to NBA player, Damion Lee who slugs it as the shooting guard of the Golden State Warriors.

It Was A Basketball Game That Brought Sydel Curry And Damion Lee Together
For two people whose lives seem to revolve around basketball, it is not surprising that Sydel and curry met during a college basketball game in 2013. At the time, she was a student at Elon University playing in the school’s volleyball team. They went to watch a game that involved Seth Curry in the NCAA tournament.
When their eyes met for the first time, they knew something was up. Lee and Curry later struck up a conversation and exchanged numbers. Even though they would go out on four dates in five days, they remained friends for the next six months before they officially became an item. According to Sydel Curry, she knew right from the first date that there was something different about him, unlike anyone she had ever met.
Their Engagement Was One Of The Best Moments Of Her Life
Years down the line, Lee couldn’t wait anymore to make Sydel Curry his wife. He was down on one knee in November 2017 and asked her to marry him and be Mrs. Sydel Alicia Curry-Lee.
The moment caught Sydel by surprise so much that she hugged him and asked if he was joking. It took her 10 minutes to finally take it all in and come to the realization that it was all real and she was not dreaming before she finally said yes. That became one of the best moments of her life.
Sydel was surprised by the engagement because she was not expecting Damion to propose to her that soon (though they had talked about spending the rest of their lives together), because of how long it took the basketball player to ask her to be his girlfriend.

Curry and her fiancée tied the knot on the 1st day of September 2018. Their wedding ceremony took place at the Charlotte Marriott City Centre and featured their loved ones.
Sydel did not get anxious or nervous like most other brides on the big day, something she expected. Instead, she felt a strong sense of calmness and at peace which she revealed was what her groom had always brought to her life.
Curry’s famous brothers served as the groomsmen while her sister-in-law, Ayesha, was the matron of honor. The couple chronicled their wedding day on Instagram and also posted lovely tributes to each other. Curry described Lee as the greatest gift that God has ever given her while he wrote that he would never forget the sight of her walking down the aisle with tears in her eyes.
Although Damion was 25 when they got married and she was 23, Sydel insisted they were not too young to marry considering the ages that other members of her family got married. Her father was 24 when he married her mother, then 22, and Steph was 22 when he engaged his then-girlfriend and now wife, Ayesha who was 21.
Damion Lee Is More Than Steph Curry’s Brother In-law
When people talk about Lee, it is mostly in relation to his wife’s family even during basketball interviews. The NBA star got fed up with the question in October 2019 so much that he warned the media that he had to be respected because he earned his place in the NBA even before he was married. More so, he was able to come thus far, despite many battles he had to fight including injuries, hence if questions must be asked, they should be about him or his game.
A native of Baltimore, Damion Lee was born on the 21st of October 1992. He went to Calvert Hall College High School and then for his college education, he first attended Drexel University where he played for three years before moving to Louisville for his final year.
In 2016, he went undrafted but later signed to play for Maine Red Claws after a few hurdles. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury that kept him out for the entire season. He was traded to Santa Cruz Warriors for the next season to play in the NBA G League. In 2018, Lee was offered two 10-day deals before he got signed for the entire season. It was after this that he finally got signed by the Golden State Warriors. He is now on a multi-year contract with the team.
