Jeffrey Adam Rosen (Jeff Rosen) is an American lawyer who served as as the United States Deputy Attorney General from 2019 to 2020 and as the acting United States Attorney General from December 2020 to January 2021.
Prior to joining the US Department of Justice, Rosen was a senior partner at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis and was the United States deputy secretary of transportation.
Rosen is married to Kathleen Nichols and together, they have three children; two daughters and one son; Anne Rebecca Rosen, Sally Amanda Rosen, and James Kenneth Rosen.
Their eldest daughter, Anne Rebecca Rosen, reportedly lives in New York City whereas Sally Amanda Rosen, their second eldest, lives in Lafayette, Colorado.
There’s not much information on their third child and first son James Kenneth Rosen.
Rosen joined Kirkland & Ellis in 1982. He left the firm in 2003 and began working for the U.S. government.
In 2006, Rosen moved to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he was general counsel and senior policy advisor until 2009.
While at the OMB, Rosen criticized “regulatory overreach” and opposed EPA plans to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
Rosen also served as a representative of the U.S. government on the board of directors of Amtrak.
Rosen returned to Kirkland & Ellis in 2009 and from 2015 to 2016, he chaired the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice.
